This week’s Reader ReFash comes from Raven!
We have been stuck in the snow and ice for days, luckily we had a pile of clothes to refash from the Goodwill Bins. This skirt was 89 cents per pound. Love the print and sequins, didn’t love the ink stains and the “one size fits most”. The waist band became the neckline, replaced the drawstring for ribbon, cut slits for the arms, took the skirt part of the dress in and added a belt. This one was super easy!
Check it out! :)
I should take some inspiration from Raven during this miserable cold weather and get out from under my blanket and get to refashioning instead! :)
Beautiful work, Raven!
Cheers!
UPDATE 2/23/14
Lots of you had questions about how Raven pulled this refashion off, so she sent me a (really cute) drawing to share with you that will hopefully clarify it a bit for ya. :)

Wow, that turned out awesome!
Very good !
Beautiful refash!
Love it! I’d like to see exactly how you did it, Raven. I can’t tell you how many large & beautiful skirts like this that I’ve held in my hands and passed over.

Hey Girl, you should start thinking about Designer School. You DID SUCH A FABULOUS JOB WITH THAT SKIRT…………. Like Willow posted I also would like to know how you did it, I concur that I’ve also done the same thing passed over Beautiful Larger Skirts not knowing really what to do with them. You’ve Got A Great Talent Keep it up.
This looks amazing. I need to find a skirt like that :)
What a great idea – and you can be sure the top and bottom will go together since they started as one piece. Very cute!

Such a cute refash! I will have to re-think all the skirts that I pass up!!!
This is adorable!
Great job, Raven, seeing the beauty in that once frumpy skirt.
Looks fantastic!
What happened to the ink stain? Did it get cut off?
I think she took it in, and that took care of the stains.
Is everything okay? Wishing you the best.
Yep! :) I’m back! :)
This is amazing! I couldn’t tell at first that it was the same skirt!
