Christmas Time in ReFashionland!
Merry Christmas, my lovely refashlings (what?)! After spending much of my holiday time off being ridiculously family oriented, I was thrilled to spend Christmas Night with my best buds!
I’ve been saving this cute little number just for the occasion!
I feel like that dude in Quantum Leap– and that I’ve woken up transformed into my terribly dressed 3rd Grade Teacher (I’m judging you, Ms. Coomer) who threw chalk at me once. It was time to strive to put right what once went wrong, and I hoped that my next leap will be the leap (to my much more fashionable) home. Unfortunately, I had no witty sidekick…:/
Fine, Al. Whatever. I’ll go it alone!
First, I got to ripping! The velvet collar and that fake vest had to go! I didn’t want to just snip it off, as it would look all frayed and gross.
This left a lot of holes!
No biggie! I just pinned everything back together (sans ugly collar and vest!).
Then I stitched it all back together.
I wasn’t happy with the fit of my dress, so I took it in a bit on each side.
Then, I took off some length!
After a quick press my dress was ready to impress (hot rhyming action!)!
Oh…and check out my fab elfin footwear! 🙂
We were all thrilled with our fab White Elephant gifts.
I really hope this is the beginning of a Christmas tradition! 🙂
Cheers!

You make my inbox day … I like you two together! 🙂
Oh, i’ve missed you. Thanks for the Merry Christmas Refash… Cute fella, too! 🙂
I love most of the stuff you do, and this one looks better than the original… but… still kinda frumpy-lookin to me, sorry 🙁
How come you always raise the hem on dresses/Chop off the bottom length? Could you sometime try making a maxi-skirt out of the Über-long ones?
I coooould go longer. It’s a sort of long story that I’ll shorten here (hehe…just like all my skirts!). I used to hate my legs and ONLY wore really long skirts for years and years and years. Then, I started working out and playing roller derby, which gave me legs that I wanted to show off! Don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get off the short skirt kick soon. 🙂
I nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award! 🙂

Thank you Thank you!!!! 🙂
My fav part ofthe original dress was the length. I know you like short dresses, but I thought this was really flattering on you. I envisioned removing the vest and cutting a princess neckline with this one. I think your refashion of the red dress in your last post was spot on though.
I like what you did with that dress. I check your blog frequently for some refashioning ideas, and I get a big kick out of how you pose in your pictures. Keep up the great work – well done!
Do something sparkly for New years!!!!!! There are tons of outdated sequined dresses that need your help.
The length of the original dress made it look really pajama-y. I love it short!
I am a new fan! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and can’t wait to see what is in store for 2013!!
