Day 84: Den Mother Dress | ReFashionista

Day 84: Den Mother Dress

I think today’s dress was some sort of uniform.  Do you have any idea what it might have been a uniform for?

“Guess my profession”, says the uniform dress!

I’m going to start off with a quick apology.  See that weirdo grey floaty looking thing on the bottom right of my photo?  Well…he’s in just about every photo.  🙁  It looks like my new camera is going back to the store, which will put us at ReFashionista Camera #4.  :/ Until then, let’s call the grey blob Steve.  I hate Steve.

Steve hid for a bit (doing typical ghostie things I imagine) as I began the taking-in process for this dress.

Pinned!

I ran each side through my machine and decided to take off a bit of that length.  Steve helped.

Steve approves. 🙂

I hemmed that raw edge.

Hem!

I pressed everything, and now I have a dress that makes me look like “the cutest den mother ever” (a friend’s words, not mine).  🙂

Oh hai Steve!

Oh hai, Melissa!

Cheers!

I love this dress – the two colours work really well together, you did a great job. Can´t think what sort of uniform it might have been….!

Adorable! Absolutely adorable.

Thank you! 🙂

I love how this dress turned out! And – your sash matches perfectly. But as for Steve – he HAS to go!

This is very cute! I love the blue. I was guessing cafeteria lady uniform but they are white aren’t they? idk.

i loved this refashion…and i know steve has to go, but he does make me giggle now that you’ve drawn attention to him

Great job on this refashioning project. Like the others I am clueless as to the type of uniform it could be. Looks more like a house dress–you know–errands and shopping type. The contrasting color is perfect. Nice job on the sash. Great color match. I tried my hand at refashioning. Check out my blog for the crocheted yoke t-shirt.

great transformation =) new form of the dress is adorable =)
