Toga! Toga! Toga!

Until yesterday, I had never been to a toga party.  🙁  For whatever the reason, they went out of vogue a long time ago.  Fortunately, I’m friends with a very cool couple who decided to bring this awesome party theme back!

Heck yeah!

I grabbed a cream jersey knit sheet, and got to snipping!  I went with jersey, as I’d be able to cut it without it fraying.  I followed this tutorial, but made my toga 3 yards by 1 yard, cutting it in a half-circle shape.

Toga! Toga! Toga!

I think my toga looks quite fetching!

Feeling like a Greek Goddess! 🙂

Others seemed fond of theirs as well!

Dan gazes at himself admiringly

…But the style possibilities for your next toga party are endless!

Use a funky print!

Make a gorgeous teal grecian dress!

But don’t take yourself too seriously.

Surround yourself with like-minded friends!

Always maintain your dignity!

Always.

But most of all, just enjoy the revelry! 🙂

Don’t forget to accessorize!

Cheers!

please tell me I’m not the only one wondering… what are you wearing UNDER the toga?

What fun!!

Haha! Don’t worry! I’m wearing a strapless slip!

Haha.. I’m always a huge fan of your posts and picture captions but this share seriously knocked it outta the park (coliseum?) for perfect pictures/captions illustrating your hilarious “how to toga” tips!

Looks like a fun party!

I never knew there were so many ways to make a sheet into a toga! Looks like a lot of fun 🙂

Love your sheet toga, fun party!

I love your hair down!! It’s so pretty

What have you done to your toes lovey?

Gah! I broke them on a doorjamb while trying to get my pup out of trouble! Ouchie!

I’m so excited my sister finally mailed me the sewing machine and I found a complete monstrosity of a dress at the thrift store to boot… ALL IN ONE DAY! You know it’s going to blow minds when you try on said monstrosity and your husband stares at you and says “wow babe that is freakin hideous” HAHA!! I can’t wait to fix it up. My 6 year old son said he thought my new dress was “purty Momma” followed up by my 9 year old son informing him mom was “looking” for UGLY dresses DUH. Oh boys.

TOGA, TOGA, TOGA! Cute Toga, looks like a serious amount of fun happening! Um, OUCH, what happened to your toes? Yeah, I’m strange that way, I can’t help but to look at peoples toes and fingers….

It was sooooo much fun! I broke two of my toes trying to run downstairs and stop my pup from causing mischief! :/

I always feel compelled to tell people that “respectable” women were not allowed to wear togas in ancient Rome. Togas were only worn by men and prostitutes. Being a classics major, I feel the need to be nit picky and annoying about this…

Historical inaccuracies aside, looks like good times!

🙂

Awesome 😉

OWIE and there’s nothing you can do for broken toes, well, except drink…And it looks like you had that covered. Keep up the inspiration gal, I’m always looking forward to your next post!

Wow I love this theme!! How caesarean haha 🙂 I adore the toga worn by your friend with the funky print, she looks gorgeous! I would love to wear it casually!! The fabric is adorable!
