I’ve never dyed anything before in my life. I’ve always assumed it was a tedious and messy process. However, this coverup/dress thing was a freebie, so I figured I’d give it a go!
First, I tied the dress into a knot at the middle.
Then, I just followed the instructions on the box of Navy Blue Rit dye! Easy peasy!
I left the dress in the dye bath for about 10 minutes, hoping for a pastel bluish hue. Then I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed.
After I had rinsed out all the excess dye, I hand-washed my dress and tossed it in the dryer with a towel.
I was happy with how my first ever dye job went. The color ended up being more purpley than blue, but that really didn’t bug me. Now I have a great coverup for the beach! I tossed my new coverup over my bikini and headed to Art Bar for the Mr. B’s Goodtime Karaoke Explosion Cabana Night. 🙂
