Day 301: Tangerine Dream Dress
I haven’t been having the best luck finding truly bad pieces at thrift stores as of late. Could it be that there are now other budding refashionistas out there competing for my supply? 🙂 Anywho…I dug through the men’s section for today’s piece.
You’re looking at a men’s 2x dress shirt in a fun, almost iridescent tangerine hue! I love the contrasting collar, and the happy sherbet-y color. And that’s where my praise for this one ends. Time to get to work!
For starters, I went ahead and shortened the sleeves. I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep the white cuffs, as they were dingy and spotted. :/
Then, I got a pinnin’! 🙂
Under the needle it went!
I cut off the extra fabric, but I wasn’t done yet! I gave my sleeves new hems…
and stitched down part of the front of my new dress.
I’m almost done! I took the scraps that I cut off from the side and sewed them into a matchy-matchy sash!
Now my dress is new and fabu! 🙂
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE that collar? 🙂
I wore my new dress to Artista Vista! 🙂
Such a fun time!
Cheers!

I LOVE that color! (the nails are a great contrast too). I have horror fashions aplenty that I’d be more than happy to send your way.
I’ve been wanting to do a dress like this for awhile, I just can’t seem to find the right shirt for the job. LOVE this color and the cute collar!
Love the colour and it looks super cute but that collar just screams diner waitress to me.
Haha…I kind of agree with you, but I sort of like that about it. Now…can I refill your coffee, sugar? 🙂
