A Little Housekeeping and ReFashionista on the Runway!!!

A No-Sew Aquatic Muumuu Dress
Hoppy to See You Top

Hi all!  I hope you’re having a fabulous week so far, and that you’ve entered the Pay it Forward Sewing Machine Giveaway!  🙂

I just wanted to take a moment to touch base with you about a few things…all of them cool and awesome, I assure you!  🙂

First,  Let me just apologize right now for how buggy/weird/slow/frustrating the site has been for a bit.  I’ve been going through some growing pains in moving the blog to a new server to accommodate traffic, and this means having to do all of that design/coding/debugging stuff all by myself.  As my degree is in Theatre and English rather than Computers and Interwebby Stuff, it’s been a frustrating ordeal.

Thankfully, I know how to deal with such stress!

The good news is, the site SHOULD be much much faster now (Huzzah!  No more 15 second load times and blackouts!), but if you ever notice anything weird, buggy, or slow, please don’t hesitate to let me know about it so I get right on fixing it!  🙂

Now for the really really good news…

Remember several months ago when I put together a ReFashion show for SHE Columbia?  Welllllll…the organizers really dug it, and asked me if I’d like to do two more ReFashion shows in South Carolina.  Of course, I said yes!  🙂

After the show, I’ll be doing a talkback and answering any questions you might have.  🙂

Tickets are $8, and that’s for the whole event.

I hope to see you there!

I’d better get back to work!

Oh I wish that I could go, but I’m not in SC. Is there a way to contribute to the cause for those who aren’t in SC?

Promise us that you’ll post a few pictures from the show, or maybe a video montage. 🙂

  • Sarah Quarles

Your face in the wine pouring picture is classic. I literally laughed out loud at that when I read this post….while sitting by myself in my office at work….

  • Kristi

I love your site. You are an inspiration to me and I’m sure to others! Please keep posting your refashions, your so talented n creative. I love trying to reuse and repurpose items, too. I’m excited about your Brother sewing machine giveaway, too!

  • Kaitlin

I’m moving to Columbia soon but live in Anderson and frequent Greenville…YES I’ll be there! ReFashionista was my original refashioning inspiration. Graduation/job searching/maintaining current job has kept my attention off the blogoshpere but I’m betting this event gets my butt right back on it!

  • Sabrina

Aargh! I used to live in Greenville and still love to visit. I’m thinking Aug. 24th would be a perfect time to go. Hope to see you there! 🙂

  • Shay

Nooooooooo, why couldn’t this have happened in Feb of 2013??? 🙁 My family moved to LA from the Greenville area at the end of Feb this year and now I’m totally sad that I can’t see your awesomeness in person. But anywho, such exciting news, have a blast!

  • Jo H.

Awesome – and I’m so glad we will have a ringside seat, so to speak (those of us who live far, far away and can’t go).

  • Natalie

So cool that they asked you back! Congratulations. Wish you were closer; I’d love to see your stuff IRL. Maybe someday you’ll bring your talent and creativity to San Diego, CA. I’ll be the first to sign up.

  • Melissa Gunde

This California girl wishes she could come to your show! Rooting for you and your refashion shows from the west coast :). I love your humor, refashions and creativity!

  • Wilda

I’m so happy for your success. On another note, “alcohol will not solve your problems, but neither will water or milk!”. Hahahaha. You’re a Doll, keep carrying on, opportunities await. Fashions are waiting for a rebirth.

Love you and your ..blog?…site? I’m not sure what to call it. Love your upbeat manner and think you are very clever! A 70 year old Granny fan.

  • Gina

This would be a great time to ask for clothing donations to have an abundance of really awful clothes to choose from. I know I would like to see what you could do with my stash.

    • TNTrish
