Day 14: A Royal Jacket/Cape

Day 15: DIY Dyed T-Shirt to Racerback Tank
Day 13: Oversized Button Down Shirt Refashion

For tonight, I picked out a dress that looked like something my 3rd Grade teacher would have worn (Ms. C., you were not known for your sweet sense of style).

...and she wouldn't let us chew gum in class. 🙁

I began with removing those frikkin’ shoulder pads.  I haven’t had to deal with any of those in a while, but they still give me the heebie jeebies!

Out. And Out.

Next I chopped the dress into two easy pieces.

Chop!

Don’t worry about the skirt, I’m not about to toss it out!  It’s going back into my stash for a future refashion.  🙂

I took my newly-chopped top, and hemmed its raw edge.

Whirrrrrrr!

If you look at the before pic, you can see how the original top crosses over itself in the front.  I decided to just leave it open, as I really liked how the soft fabric draped in a cape-like manner.  🙂  What do you think?

A vision in blue!
Day 14: A Royal Jacket/Cape 7
Capetastic!

After I was done posing in my front yard (much to the consternation of drivers-by), I headed of for Mr. B’s Goodtime Karaoke Explosion!  🙂

Day 14: A Royal Jacket/Cape 8
Happy Birthday, Sam! But wait...who's that mysterious gentleman in the background?
Day 14: A Royal Jacket/Cape 9
J & J! Whoa! There's our Mystery Man again!

Okay Marques...you've made your point. 😉

I somehow ended up with these sweet accessories as well (Courtesy of Crazy Mike):
