Day 190: Scrap Bustin’ Top
All this refashioning has left me with a bunch of scraps! Most of them are the cut off bottoms of dresses, like this one from Day 182:
Hey Guys! Remember me?
Scraps are pretty terrific. There are all sorts of fun projects you can do to use them up. I loved the pattern on this fabric, and decided to turn that scrap into a pretty drapey top! 🙂
First, I put it on my dress form and pinned it on each side where I wanted the neck hole to be.
Dress Forms are Awesome! 🙂
Then, I tacked the pinned parts down with a few quick stitches.
Tack it down!
This could also be done by hand really quickly, too. 🙂
Now I have a pretty new top…perfect for a gorgeous 70 degree SC winter day! 🙂 And no…this is not typical winter weather for us, but I’m definitely not complaining!
Keepin it real in teal! 🙂
My new top was fine for the day, but by the time it was dark, temps plummeted into the “really cold” region. Not to worry! I made a nice cuppa green tea, and cozied up for a quiet night in with the Fella. 🙂
Check it out! My fiestaware matches my new top! 🙂
Cheers, friends! I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend!
