Day 68: No Mo Polo
Day 66: Pride Dress

Today’s piece started out as a perfectly fine Hippie Skirt.

It’s not bad at all…

But in case you haven’t noticed, I have a hard time wearing anything how it’s intended to be worn.  πŸ™‚

I took this skirt and put in on my dress form, upside-down and inside-out.  I pinned it where I wanted to new shoulders to be, and a bit further down each side to make peekaboo batwing sleeves.  πŸ™‚

Next, I ran the pin parts through my machine to stitch them down.

It only takes a few stitches…you could even do this by hand. πŸ™‚

Now I have a perfectly light and comfy dress to wear for this:

  1. Love these upside down skirt dealies. These would be great for plus sizes too, for those bemoaning the lack of plus-friendly fashions or not being able to find pieces big enough to refashion. You can find pretty big broomstick skirts if you look.

  2. This is my favorite off all your refashions that I’ve seen so far! (I’ve been reading your blog backwards). πŸ˜‰ Thanks for all the inspiration.
