Let’s take a stroll down memory lane, shall we? Remember Year 1 of this little blog, when I would go for weeks at a time without posting? Do you remember this dress (and my sad-looking growing-out ‘do)? 🙂

Remember how I had that bottom scrap left over?

I took that bottom scrap and played with it a bit on my dress form, experimenting with drape.

In the pic above, you can see where I’ve pinned a line down one of the sides.
I stitched a singe seam along that pinned line…

and now I have a fun new top!

I’ve gotta say, I’m especially proud of myself for making not one, but two tops from one 50 cent dress! 🙂 I wore my fun new top to Mr. B’s Goodtime Karaoke Explosion, where a good time was indeed had by all! 🙂

Cheers!
I love how this one turned out – what a great print and you did something a little different too by experimenting with draping. Project Runway – here we come! You go girl – nicely done!
I think (one of) my favorite thing(s) about this blog is how fun you make it look to live in this city.
I love the pattern on this one.
Great top – and you made two from a 50c dress. Well done Miss Refashionista!
I love that print!!
Wow, you’re amazing! I love your blog, and how you recreate some of these pieces. Beautiful!!
HA! that picture of us is classic! and that picture of Mr. B is…well…awesome to say the least! 🙂 and as I said, that top is stunning. you rock!
