No-Sew Dilophosaurus Top
Save me! I’m drowning in layers!!!!!

I had a great idea of what to do with the top layer…

…but I don’t really have any enemies to kill with my poisonous squirting saliva. :/
I opted for a safer, no-sew solution!
I chopped off the bottom layer.

Don’t worry! I saved that bottom scrap! I plan on using it in the near future. 🙂
I turned my new top around backwards so the zipper was facing the front to give me a bit more breathing room, tossed on a belt to cinch the waist, and was ready for a fabulous farewell party!

My top was flowy and comfy as can be. Methinks it’ll be in heavy rotation this summer. 🙂

Now…aren’t you glad I didn’t go this route?

Cheers!

Hi, Jillian! I found you on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and I’ve been ADDICTED ever since. In fact, I was just looking at more of your refashions a moment ago when the whole website changed formats…. I think… I could be imagining it. I know the background changed. Haha. It’s all chevrony and awesome now. I have been thoroughly inspired by you! And not just in the bandwagon type way. I feel a new sense of freedom through what I have learned on your blog with so many possibilities for refashioning my own clothes, having adorable things to wear, and NOT spending much money as I’ve never felt too comfortable doing that. I’ve already made a few things and have other projects in the works. On top of that, my hubby is very supportive of my sewing endeavors and tells me so often that he’s proud of me! Winning all around!!! Thank you so much! You rock my socks!

I love the new blog look – very fresh and funky. But, but, but … the old header with that gorgeous, unique picture of you … sigh … I miss it!

Hahaha I usually love your refashions but this one may not be something to put into rotation you look like you are wearing some sort of hideous polyester poncho. <—- Words I never thought I would use together!
Melanie
ALWAYS love your refashes! Also love the last photo with the before and after look and thanks for sharing.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around what the original piece was. You could get lost inside that dress!
Heather
That first face you made was pretty darn funny.

I have a question: every time I see you spin a garment to wear it backwards, I wonder how you deal with the difference from the front and the back, specifically the ease in the front for boobs? Isn’t it baggy back there? (Just thinking of what it’s like when you put a t-shirt on backwards.)

I can only do this with pieces that aren’t that different when turned around. It doesn’t always work, but sometimes it does!

Super cute. I bet the top layer would look cute with a simple black tank under it.

Ok that’s up there with your black Philly dress as my 2 faves so far!! 😉
Sharon
great. I love it.
but you didn’t even need to sew a hem?
Jackie
No hem needed since it was cut off way up under the second layer-near the top of the skirt. That kind of fabric doesn’t fray.
Love this!

^What she said! 😉
