Save me!  I’m drowning in layers!!!!!

Layer 1. Layer 2. Layer 3.
Layer 1. Layer 2. Layer 3.

I had a great idea of what to do with the top layer…

Didja happen to see Jurassic Park? :)

…but I don’t really have any enemies to kill with my poisonous squirting saliva.  :/

I opted for a safer, no-sew solution!

I chopped off the bottom layer.

Just a simple chop!
Just a simple chop!

Don’t worry!  I saved that bottom scrap!  I plan on using it in the near future.  🙂

I turned my new top around backwards so the zipper was facing the front to give me a bit more breathing room, tossed on a belt to cinch the waist, and was ready for a fabulous farewell party!

This was too easy!
This was toooo easy!

My top was flowy and comfy as can be.  Methinks it’ll be in heavy rotation this summer.  🙂

Ah! Cider! :)
Nice face, bro.
Fare thee well, Randy! I barely knew ye!

Geez...I'm short!
Geez…I’m short!

Now…aren’t you glad I didn’t go this route?

Sorry, Newman! :/

  1. Me thinks Bekah has lost some marbles… this is an adorable top (I get to each their own) but!! how could you not love this … it’s fresh, flowy, happy, and just plain cute… Jillian – not sure how I came across your site a couple weeks ago – but I haven’t been able to stop checking it out everyday since…. YOU ARE AWESOME!! Love your refashions… love your imagination… love your ability to see what a “mess” can become…. and love your sense of humor and commentaries!!! To you .. I wish nothing but continued good health and joy!!

  2. Hi, Jillian! I found you on Pinterest a few weeks ago, and I’ve been ADDICTED ever since. In fact, I was just looking at more of your refashions a moment ago when the whole website changed formats…. I think… I could be imagining it. I know the background changed. Haha. It’s all chevrony and awesome now. I have been thoroughly inspired by you! And not just in the bandwagon type way. I feel a new sense of freedom through what I have learned on your blog with so many possibilities for refashioning my own clothes, having adorable things to wear, and NOT spending much money as I’ve never felt too comfortable doing that. I’ve already made a few things and have other projects in the works. On top of that, my hubby is very supportive of my sewing endeavors and tells me so often that he’s proud of me! Winning all around!!! Thank you so much! You rock my socks!

  3. I love the new blog look – very fresh and funky. But, but, but … the old header with that gorgeous, unique picture of you … sigh … I miss it!

  4. Hahaha I usually love your refashions but this one may not be something to put into rotation you look like you are wearing some sort of hideous polyester poncho. <—- Words I never thought I would use together!

  5. I have a question: every time I see you spin a garment to wear it backwards, I wonder how you deal with the difference from the front and the back, specifically the ease in the front for boobs? Isn’t it baggy back there? (Just thinking of what it’s like when you put a t-shirt on backwards.)

    • I can only do this with pieces that aren’t that different when turned around. It doesn’t always work, but sometimes it does!

  6. I love it! Wish I could find a dress like that. I would so love to add it to my wardrobe.(refashioned of course) lol

What do you think?
