Q&A Monday

Wannabe Wednesday: A Bottega Veneta Inspired Refashion
Thrift Score Thursday!

Happy Monday , Everybody!  🙂  It’s time for our weekly Q&A!  🙂

This week’s question comes from Rachel, and it’s one I get a lot.

Q:  How much time do you spend on your refashions?

A:  It varies pretty wildly.  For instance, this refashion took around 4.5 hours!

If you’re a fairly long-time reader of my little blog, you know that this was the dress I wore for the Rachael Ray Show, so yeah…it was worth the effort!  😉

Of course, I’m not usually on TV (sad, I know!), so if I’m just running out for a hot dog, I only want to take about 30 minutes for a refashion, like this one (from waaaay back!).

When I’m really in a hurry, I only have time for a no-sew refash, which takes less than 5 minutes! 🙂

See?  I actually plan my refashions around how much time I have that day to make something.  It’s firmly ingrained in my daily routine at this point.

The more refashioning you do, the better you’ll get at predicting how long any given refash will take.  Most of them will take between 30 minutes and 3 hours.  Try not to get easily distracted.  If you’ve DVRd Downton Abbey and want to watch it right away, move your ironing board into your living room and do your pinning & prepping in front of the TV.  Mr. Carson would be impressed with your work ethic!  🙂

Cheers!  🙂
