    Day 256: Teal Day Dress

Today was apparently Teal Day at the thrift store, as everything I scored today was my favorite color in the whole wide world!  🙂 I was in a hurry to get to Rifftrax Night, so today’s refashion is a no-sew!  🙂 First off, these guys had to go! I made several quick chops! I wore the back of the dress as the front so I could pin it into a V-neck.  I used the bottom scrap as a sash (big…

    Day 247: Busy Day Dress

This was one of the busiest days I’ve had in a long long time.  First, I had to do today’s refashion.  I chose this dress right here.  Ah!  I’m such a sucker for teal!  Throw in a cool print, and I’m ecstatic!  🙂 Fortunately, this dress didn’t need much work at all!  I lopped out its one little shoulder pad. Then, I cut off some of that length! I used the bottom scrap as a sash to cinch the waist…

Day 244: Liberty of London Calling Dress

When I found this dress for $1, the only things I liked about it were the print (soooo Liberty of London), and that fabu fishtail skirt! If you’ve been reading this blog for any time at all, you’ll notice that this pic has been taken at my old place.  That’s because The Artist Formerly Known as Fella and I are awkwardly cohabitating until I can move into my new place, so I can keep up with this blog, and work…

Day 235: Out of the Dark Dress

For some reason, when I attempted to take the “before” pics of this dress, the flash on my camera refused to go off.  It’s as if it didn’t want anyone to see this extremely unattractive dress!  🙂 I love the funky contrasting print on the shoulders of this dress, plus it has pockets!  I’m less than fond of those funky shoulder pads, the length, and the fact that I’m swimming in it! I decided to take this dress in from…

    Day 233: Mardi Gras Dress

When I saw today’s dress, I knew it would be just the thing for a Mardi Gras Celebration!  🙂 I love the gold hue, and the luxurious silk fabric, but I wanted something cute and fun to catch a parade with friends…and this wasn’t it! I decided to completely lose the top part of the dress. I left just enough of the fabric from the top part to fold over and pin.  Then I stitched it down. Now I needed…

    Day 232: No-Sew Cocktail Dress!

Today’s dress was delightful in that it was made of silk, and had an awesomely tacky print.  🙂 It was less than delightful in that it was of a hideous shape with one shoulder pad.  :/ What follows is perhaps the best no-sew refashion I’ve ever lucked out on!  🙂 I ripped out that solo shoulder pad… Then, I wrapped the arms of the dress around my waist and pinned the bust to keep my new dress from slipping off. …
