Day 298: Brooching the Subject Top
Today’s piece began as a too-big, but phenomenally soft 2x top. I love the color. I like the neckline. I like the big sleeves. And like I said, the fabric is just ahmazingly soft. 🙂 But…It’s way too big. I decided to do a quickie no-sew fix to get this top nice & slender! I took one of my brooches, and pinned the two side seams together in the back, like so: Now I still have those flowy sleeves, but…

Day 285: Nostalgia Top
When I saw today’s piece at the thrift store, I immediately became nostalgic. This is a pajama top that is almost identical (just a different color) to a set of pajamas I had in high school that used to be my grandmother’s in the 70’s. I loved them to death, but accidentally got bleach all over them, and that was that. :/ Or was it? 🙂 I scoured the thrift store, looking for the bottoms to this top, but they…

Day 277: Wine Not? Tee
I’m a very picky gal about my T shirts. I don’t want them to be too big, but I also don’t want them to be super-fitted either. I loved the fun stripes and the pocket on this tee I scored for $1, but it obviously falls into the “too big” category. :/ I turned this too-big tee inside-out and laid one of my favorite tees on top of it. Then, I pinned along the edges of my fave tee. 🙂…

Day 266: Wurban Urestern Bolero
I’m not sure what look this tacky shirt is going for. Is it trying to be Western? Urban? What??!??? I realllllly hated all that stupid white stitching, so I pulled it all out. I actually liked this strange Fleur De Lis patch on one of the sleeves. 🙂 It is freakishly hot here in SC for this time of year, so those sleeves weren’t going to make the cut. :/ Then, I took in each side about 3.5″. After trying…

Day 249: Day 55 Revisted!
It’s time to go back in time to Day 55… Remember this shirt? Whereas I turned it into a fun skirt back in August, I decided to wrap it around me a bit differently to make it a completely new top! 🙂 This top could have totally been worn as a dress, but it was pretty chilly out, so jeans were quite necessary! I headed over to The Whig for some tasty pizza and a couple of beers with buds!…

Day 239: I Heart Fortuny!
Little old lady dresses are such a blast to refashion! 🙂 Check out this one with its nifty Fortuny-style pleating. Sadly, it doesn’t have much else going for it! I was in a hurry, so this needed to be quick! I turned the dress inside-out and stitched a seam over each sleeve. I chopped off the sleeves, then decided to get rid of most of the length. Today was just a jeans kinda day! Hooray for Casual Friday! Now that…
